  • Antonio Moreno is my favorite Silent leading man!

Not sure if I'm to review Antonio's bio or his film, "The Temptress." New to this site. However, I'm quite a silent movie buff. Since a tiny gal growing up in Los Angeles, I've been 'in love' with the silent movies! Charlie Chaplin was my first hero, and I'm still a huge fan of his and always will be, but, as one grows in silent movie history, you learn of other incredible artists and become fans of others as you go along. Many years ago I was married to character actor Carlos Romero. His Mother and her Father were silent actors, (Malvina Polo and Eddie Polo), and it was through them I first discovered Antonio Moreno! Even though this lovely artist made nearly 150 silent movies, there wasn't much available for viewing as so many of his films had either been destroyed in fires, had became lost, or needed extensive restoration. Eventually his biggest hit, "It" with Clara Bow was restored and since then it appears he has become better known among silent fans! Thank you, TCM for showing "Mare Nostrum" and other gems of Antonio's which would otherwise be near impossible to view today! But if I'm to critique Antonio, I would like to say, for me, he was thee most handsome, talented, masculine and heartfelt of all the silent leading men! It is unbelievably tragic to me so much of his fine work appears gone forever! How I wish this were not so! I am so hungry to view anything on him I can as I've loved this dear artist most all my adult life and yet have 'no where to go' with my adoration as there are so few of his films to see! I'm very excited "Synthetic Sin" has been restored! Have been speaking with Warner Bros. distribution and theaters here in Portland, Oregon and hope it can be shown here before too much longer. I would like to request you try to view MORE of his films! If it's possible there is "Beverly of Graustark," with Marion Davies and Antonio which we would all LOVE to see, but it's in Washington DC in the Library of Congress. Wish you could air this!
