David Byrd was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Byrd's earliest roles were in film, including "Rollercoaster" (1977) with George Segal, the Shirley MacLaine drama "The Turning Point" (1977) and "Corvette Summer" (1978). He also appeared in the adventure "Battlestar Galactica" (1978) with Lorne Greene, "The Formula" (1980) with George C Scott and the comedic drama "Some Kind of Hero" (1982) with Richard Pryor. He continued to act in productions like the comedy "School Spirit" (1985) with Tom Nolan, the James Woods thriller "Best Seller" (1987) and the Paul Reubens comedic adventure "Big Top Pee-Wee" (1988). He also appeared in "Tango & Cash" (1989) with Sylvester Stallone. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1993) starring Diedrich Bader, the comedy "The Hudsucker Proxy" (1994) with Tim Robbins and the Martin Short comedy "Clifford" (1994). He also appeared in the drama "Lost Highway" (1997) with Bill Pullman and the period drama "The Proposition" (1998) with Kenneth Branagh. Most recently, Byrd worked on "Face the Ace" (NBC, 2008-09).
