Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

A veteran American actor with hundreds of screen credits to his name, Anthony Caruso is best known for his many appearances on adventure shows such as "Zorro" and "Daniel Boone," as well as installments of the "Tarzan" series. Uncredited appearances were common for Caruso early on in his career, but, by the late 1940s, he had established himself as a known supporting player. He was often cast as Native Americans or Mexicans in productions, notably playing Chief Blackfish on "Daniel Boone" and Don Juan Ortega in "Zorro," along with portraying various characters on the venerable Western show "Gunsmoke." Caruso effectively retired in 1990 and died 13 years later.
