Began his career in vaudeville before turning his attention to Hollywood and Broadway in the mid-20s, collaborating with George Gershwin, Sigmund Romberg, Walter Donaldson and Bronislau Kaper. Kahn was played by Danny Kaye in the 1952 biopic, "I'll See You in My Dreams" (1952).
