If you ever have the chance to view the original classic sci-fi QUATERMASS series broadcast in 1955 on the BBC, you will note a striking resemblance between their six-part QUATERMASS II presentation and THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE--especially the plot points wherein "meteors" land in a field outside of London followed by a flurry of building activity led by scientists under the control of aliens who have taken control of their brains. Of course, the aliens arrived via the so-called meteors. One has to wonder if the screenwriter for THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE lifted the ideas from the Nigel Kneale teleplay or had watched it years earlier and forgotten.
