Some scenes were shot at Sing Sing prison in Albany, NY, in the Governor's office in the New York State mansion and in the Governor's official room in the State Capitol. The warden of Sing Sing verified in an opening intertitle that the views of prison life depicted in the film were accurate. The working title of the film was Justice. Aywon Film Corp. re-released the film under that title in 1919.
