Not sure reading Hitler's racism from "Mein Kampf" to a black audience was such a hot idea since many of the Caucasians in the army to which many in the audience were headed believed the same thing!

My father-in-law served in World War II. Years before he died, we videotaped an interview with him about his experiences as a black soldier during WWII. His experiences mirrored some of the experiences shown in the documentary, The Negro Soldier. I wish TCM would consider selling the documentary in its Shop. It would be a great addition to our current collection of African American films.

What a refreshing documentary. I came home from work Wednesday evening, and like always I turned on TMC. I immediately started paying attention. Unfortunately I go to school Online, so I couldn't watch it all the way through. The documentary is so informative, there were things I never knew. Most of the things being said, I certainly hadn't learned in history class. I've seen enough movies depicting the Negro Soldier as something less than a hero. I feel a positive light was shining on these unsung heroes. I would recommend people of all ages, race, color and creed to take the time and watch this documentary. Watch it with your children and engage in a discussion. Let them know, this too is American history. If you are a Veteran, or you know someone who is, please invite them in to share their stories and together enjoy this documentary. This would be a great piece to air during "Black History Month." Will you honor these heroes and run the documentary during the month of February? Please do. We would get so much out of it. Thank you TMC for running this Documentary.Regards,Clementine (Tena) JohnsonLas Vegas, NV
