Jim Cagney And The Art Of The Steal
Hope it's shown more often.Cagney & Donnelly such a classic combo.Needed to be seen together more, like the Kettles or Ruggles/Boland
Love Mother,Daughter,Cagney Combo
Cagney & Donnelly should've worked together more often.Rare to catch on tv,had it on DVR,but then cable box went kerfuey,so haven't seen in ages.
That Hurt! No, That's Cagney!
Cagney as a publicist. No dancing in this one, but he runs a lot, and even his running is fun to watch.Highlight for me: when he feigns having been arrested in order to recapture the affections of his girl. It works, of course...Good supporting cast, good direction. Great James as always!
Classic Cagney pre-Code comedy
People forget what a comedic talent James Cagney was, but he made quite a few comedies, especially in pre-Code days. This is one of his best, as a shifty promoter. He's aided by a charming turn by Ruth Donnelly as the mother of the gal he loves (Mary Brian). Charmingly cynical.
