An opening title card acknowledges the assistance and participation of the Department of Defense, the Department of the Army, the National Guard Bureau and units of the National Guard for making the film possible. A written prologue then states that the story is about a heroic division of the National Guard comprising citizens from Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, and sets the story in the summer of 1940 during maneuvers. Although his appearance has not been confirmed, a May 1952 Hollywood Reporter news item adds Richard Gaines to the cast. Portions of the film were shot at Ft. Sill, OK, according to a May 1952 Hollywood Reporter news item.
